Brooklyn made headlines for how emaciated and defeated she looked when she came to us—but plot twist: she had eaten 9 socks and part of her bed, and it blocked her up. Classic Brooklyn. She’s been with us ever since.
Whatever her true age is, Brooklyn is a relic of a serious working dog—you can only imagine the BEAST she must’ve been in her prime. Even now, she carries that presence like royalty. She’s a Presa Canario, a rare and powerful breed known for its confidence, protectiveness, and loyalty. Presas are natural guardians—intelligent, deeply bonded to their people, and always watching. Brooklyn is all of that, wrapped in sass, sunbathing routines, and very high standards.
She’s amazing with kids, loves a good walk, a belly full of gourmet food, and sun on her back. Nigeria is 3 years old and she is a sweetheart. She is strong and stoic, but also very friendly with a warm demeanor that makes her a joy to be around. She weighs a bulky 145 pounds, and you can clearly see the muscles in her neck and back glisten through her shiny black coat, which is genuinely impressive. It’s remarkable how strong she is; however, she isn’t pushy or overly assertive when engaged. She doesn’t pull you over, but you do need to be a strong handler for the type of dog she is. Nigeria has a gentle nature beneath her strength and is always eager to please, making her a delightful companion.
